The deck is small-sized but you need it during the wintertime and heavy rain.
The yard will be very wet during heavy rain and snow melting; the winter snow and ice can make the driveway slippery and muddy (pine needles) too. The deck gives you easier/cleaner access to the road on the south side so that you can live your life normally.
The deck is treated with Cabot wood stain and the color is close to "LB100-01 B3, Autumn Ridge". You can cut a piece of the wood from the deck and bring it to the home depot for an accurate color match.
There is a small sunroom outside the sliding door, I raise plants and store cabbage and other vegetables there during wintertime. The roof of the sunroom is removable.
